Marci Shimoff who is fast becoming one of my dear friends has been known to say, “People spend more time every day on their hair than they do on their happiness,”  Not only is Marci the author  Happy for No Reason- 7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out and Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul – both which have soared on the best seller lists, but she is also a member of the Transformational Leadership Counsel and many know her as a featured teacher in the international film and book sensation, The Secret.  A celebrated transformational leader and one of the nation's leading experts on happiness, success, and the law of attraction, Marci inspires millions of people all around the world as she shares her methods of personal fulfillment and professional success.

In Marci's over 30 years in the personal development field, she has found that we all share the same primary desire—to be happy.  While growing up, she describes herself as a child with a great deal of angst who became inspired by her father who lovingly told her many times, “Honey, just be happy.”  Determined to crack the code on happiness, she later began interviewing hundreds and then thousands of people who helped her understand how to be happy for no reason… a feeling that is described as “deep inner peace and well being regardless of circumstance.”

Happiness, she has said, is a skill with a specific and unique set-point that is 50% genetic; 10% circumstance, and 40% habits of personal thoughts and behaviors.  Her discovery of cracking the code of happiness and raising our happiness set point involves 7 main steps which are comprised of 1) the foundation of personal responsibility and ownership; 2 - 5) the 4 corner pillars of mind, body, heart & soul, 6) the supporting roof of our passion in life, and 7) the personal garden which entails surrounding ourselves with those who know how to be happy for no reason -- because, as she ahs learned and has said many times “We are NOT our emotions, yet if we allow it, we can catch the emotions of other people just like we catch their colds.”
